I think it would be great if WhatsApp implement this…

Nowadays one of the best ways of communication is through texting in that field one of the widely used apps is WhatsApp. It has a wide range of features which helps us in building better communication with others. Now among these features STATUS is also a great feature. which is used to post our statuses which lasts for 24hrs after posting.

I am one of the frequent user of the app and also I use this status feature a lot. While using this feature I got a problem/pain point. This makes me think about how to solve the problem if I get a chance to do.

Problem Statement:

In the status I will upload files it’s fine. But I think when I am using status privacy options. So you can ask that using the status privacy option is your problem statement.

If that’s the question my answer would be YES…

More than the problem we can call it an enhancement/upgrade from the current feature.

So what exactly made me think is basically after hiding my status from some of my contacts now for the next post I want to hide a new set of people who are not in the previous hide list and also I want to show the same status to the contacts who are hidden in the previous list.

Little complicated to understand right 😅

Ok, I got you I will try to explain in another way. Let me divide my contact list into two. Let’s say one is my family and another is friends now there is some status which I want to hide from family and show to friends and vice versa. So place where I get the trouble is if these two cases come most frequently. Then I have to change the hide list frequently.

Hmmm, let me think, Ya I got what you are thinking 😉. So how would I solve this problem? Right?

My Solution:

Yes, Let me explain. My solution to solve this problem is very simple creating the “Status Presets”. To explain in short the user will create presets for the set of people he wants to divide i.e. in my case Family and Friends. And then when he uploads the status he just selects one of the presets to which he wants to share.

Simple right? In that way, I solved the pain point in this case. If you got another solution I’m happy to hear that too.
